If you want to expand what you’re capable of, the route isn’t forward. It’s back.
Step outside the texts and teaching methods that dominate our schools and you find a body of knowledge that older cultures held plainly, discussed openly, and built their lives around. Most of it we simply stopped being told.
Fair warning — there are usually two outcomes when someone opens this particular dusty tome:
- You get angry, and become another person in open rebellion against how things are.
- You learn enough that your reality shifts.
Don’t dismiss ancient wisdom. If you’re going to be sceptical about something, aim it at today’s programming.

This knowledge was never really hidden
When I say lost, I don’t mean unavailable. I mean a broken connection — to an understanding that sits in us and goes unused. Science spent years calling the unread portions of our genome “junk DNA” before conceding it does rather a lot.
Out of sight, out of mind. Religious institutions worked hard to control how this material was perceived and largely succeeded in burying it. Not completely, though. With curiosity and an open mind, what our ancestors knew is still there for the taking.
We’ve lost the connection to each other, too — though organisations like the HeartMath Institute keep producing evidence that we’re linked to one another and to the world more directly than we assume.
Some say an awakening is underway. Others say if it is, it’s moving far too slowly.
The news on the screen, the games delivering their bright little notifications — it settles like smog and leaves people hypnotised. Keep putting a screen in front of a three-year-old and there won’t be an awakening any time soon.
Meanwhile the physicists keep arriving, by their own route, at conclusions the elders and native cultures stated thousands of years ago.
1. You have lived before
Before controlling belief systems took hold, reincarnation was ordinary. Obvious, even.
Once you accept that this isn’t your first or only life, everything reorganises. Death gets smaller. Life stops being about grabbing as much as possible before the exit.
Life isn’t about the physical body at all. It’s about the spirit operating it.
There’s no shortage of material to look at — near-death accounts, consistent descriptions of an other side, children reporting verifiable details of lives they couldn’t have known about.
What it means for you now
It gives shape to what’s already happened to you. The people and places you’ve encountered had a purpose. Your life has a theme, drafted before you arrived.
That doesn’t cost you free will. Plan a route on a map and you can still throw the map away and see where a different road goes.
2. There are other beings in the universe
Most people now accept the odds of humans being the only intelligent life are vanishingly small. It’s barely a discussion. We’re one species in a remote corner of one galaxy, still learning to walk.
Ancient records across unrelated cultures describe other beings visiting and communicating with humans over thousands of years. Other life forms have always been here, and in my view are here now. UFO files have been released steadily over recent years — with limits, and the significant material still isn’t openly discussed.
What it means for you now
For some people it’s a relief — that the connection running through astrology, other planets and other people extends further than that, and that you may have lived as one of those life forms yourself.
For everyone else it does something simpler: it establishes that there are enormous facts about our existence we haven’t been let in on yet.
3. Your life has a theme running through it
Rebirth is discussed directly in the Book of Enoch, the Emerald Tablets, Egyptian texts. And each time round tends to come with a specific theme — particular experiences you’re here to have, particular things you’re here to understand.
The purpose isn’t always pleasant. For some people this life is largely tragedy and obstruction, and it can be genuinely unbearable.
There’s a real gap between people who surf through on a wave of ease and people who suffer. The first group rarely goes looking for deeper explanations, because nothing has forced them to.
What it means for you now
I usually put it like this: the tough souls get the hard lives. And they grow at a rate the comfortable ones never will.
If you can hold that what’s happening has a reason, the bad days get marginally more survivable. Not pleasant. Survivable.
4. Everything has a cause and an effect
Even the people and events that throw your life apart. Evil in the storybook sense — the monster, the witch — doesn’t exist.
Yin and yang do. Which means everything under the sun is out there, at every level of consciousness, and we read each small manifestation as either good or bad.
You’re the one pulling the strings, through thought and action, so you’re the one producing the effect. It isn’t always visible immediately. Sometimes it takes a long detour through the ether before it shows up in front of you.
And because we’re all part of the same thing, floating in the same soup, we take part in each other’s causes and effects too.
What it means for you now
If everything happens for a reason, there are no accidents. Which makes it worth thinking twice about your thought forms, how you live, and what you’re transmitting toward other people.
5. We’re all related
In 2004 I visited the Lakota Sioux at Pine Ridge Reservation. It’s hard to look directly at what the United States government did to that land and those people.
While I was there I listened to people still connected to their traditions. Their values matched what I’ve since found in native cultures everywhere — a respect for all living things that follows logically from understanding your connection to everything else.
Nothing has changed since. Existence still exists. The laws still hold — including the synchronicities between people.
Most of us have heard what you do for another, you do for yourself.
The part people miss is that it isn’t a nice sentiment for the morally minded. It’s a metaphysical law. It operates like gravity, whether or not you find it charming.
What it means for you now
Being part of everything is a demanding thing to actually live by. You’re transmitting constantly, and those signals shape how you act, think and feel far more than you’d like to admit.
6. Your thoughts become matter
You’ve likely heard of the double-slit experiment. Physicists have been circling it since the early 1900s, and it keeps pointing at the same uncomfortable place: particles behave differently when observed.
Prayer, stripped of its costume, is concentrated thought. You could equally call it meditation or deliberate manifestation. It’s been so wrapped in ritual — the folded hands, the hoping — that the mechanism inside it got lost.
Prayer isn’t the problem. The problem is not understanding what it actually is.
Picture your thoughts as visible — strands of light stretching out ahead of you. When something has your attention, those strands gather and concentrate until they’re dense enough to start arranging events in front of you.
It runs both directions. What you dread gets exactly the same treatment as what you want.
What it means for you now
Our default setting is negative, and it’s strong enough that people routinely produce the thing they were bracing against. Carry enough fear for long enough and it shows up in the body.
I know that one first-hand. Some years ago, when I lost my big love, I cried until my stomach bled. They call that an ulcer.
7. Meditation changes your state of being
The oldest practice for balancing body and mind, and still the most reliable.
There are countless methods. I tend to work with three: stillness to quiet the mind, meditation to music, and guided meditation with a voice in the room or in your ears.
Brain imaging has caught up with what practitioners always claimed — a regular practice measurably changes the brain, forming pathways and altering the activity of specific regions.
What it means for you now
You already know that recalling certain memories produces a physical response — warmth, or a hard weight in the stomach. Now extend that. Deliberately returning to chosen states, repeatedly, produces a long-term change in where your mind sits by default.
8. Sacred geometry shapes thought
This one sounds far out until you start looking.
Geometric and mathematical forms are everywhere around us. It isn’t coincidence that religions, secret societies and governments all attach themselves to particular symbols. We handle them daily without the training to see what they are.
Geometry is the blueprint of creation. Socrates called it the pattern in the heavens, which anyone can find and establish within themselves.
These constructs appear ordered or chaotic depending on conditions. Expose water to harmonious thought and researchers have found the structures form cleanly; expose it to noise and negativity and they come apart.
Crop formations have appeared in English fields for decades, typically near sacred sites and ley lines. The man-made ones are distinguishable from the rest — the others are geometrically exact, with no footprints and no sign of tools.
They’re meant to be seen from above, whole. The aim is to trigger something at a level below thinking. A reminder of what you are and where you came from.
What it means for you now
Most people looking at those photographs feel awe before they’ve thought anything at all. That response is the point. Go looking for the same geometry in the natural world — it’s not hidden, it’s just unremarked.
9. Your birth chart is an energy signature
Humans have tracked the heavens for thousands of years, and finding your own connection to it is genuinely useful.
The sixty-word horoscope at the back of a magazine is entertainment. What I’m talking about is the actual chart — the mathematical position of everything at the exact moment you arrived.
Everything is energy, including what got imprinted on you at birth. Kings kept personal astrologers among their advisors, for insight and for forecasting. They weren’t being whimsical.
What it means for you now
The micro and the macro run on the same principles. Read your own chart properly and patterns surface — things about your life that looked random turn out to be consistent, and often have been the whole time.
10. Time doesn’t exist. Everything is happening now
Of everything here, this is the one my brain still refuses to picture. With most concepts I can see the shape of the thing. Time, no.
There’s no universal clock ticking somewhere out there. Everything that has happened, is happening and will happen is taking place right now.
That’s a lot to hold.
Take something that happened to you yesterday. Now consider that it’s occurring at this moment in a parallel version of things. Perhaps that’s why some people catch images of the distant past, or see forward. Technically it’s all the same moment.
What it means for you now
This is where it connects back to everything practical. People want to change their lives while holding a model of the universe that makes the change impossible.
Widen the model and the version of you occupying this body starts to shift — and your circumstances follow. Expect your surroundings and some of the people in them to fade out and be replaced. That’s not the process failing. That’s the process.
11. You are God
This one tends to cause trouble, which is a shame, because the Bible gets at the same idea — it’s just been read by people with an interest in you not concluding it.
Simply put: at the Big Bang the source scattered into an infinite, expanding cloud of fragments. Every fragment carries the consciousness of the whole, so that the whole can experience existence as every being in it.
Why? Because being a single speck of awareness alone in an empty cosmos is unendurably boring. So here you are, reading this, wondering what happened.
What happened is you forgot.
For some people that realisation lands as loss — a disconnection from something vast. And the reaching for entertainment, substances and substitutes is mostly an attempt to fill it. All of it still serves the purpose, which is to experience. Life is simple. We’re the ones who complicate it.
What it means for you now
Knowing you’re equal to any stone on the ground, any celebrity you admire and anyone sleeping rough changes how you move through a day. Everything in existence is valid and of equal value.
You may feel worth less than that, or considerably more. Both are your mind running old material.
So act accordingly. Take what your past lives, your experiences and your birth imprint gave you, and build something with it.
If you feel stuck
There are broadly two reasons people don’t move even once they know what they want:
- You know exactly which thing or person is in the way, and you can’t let go of it.
- You want the change and genuinely cannot see the first move.
The second is a real problem and it’s solvable. The first isn’t really being stuck — it’s a decision you haven’t admitted to yet. Worth being honest with yourself about which one you’re in, because they need completely different things.
Don’t let today’s fear-based teaching dim what you are. Put this knowledge to work.
